For Immediate Release January 16, 2010 Contact: Ramon Hernandez 201-206-2705 ramon@northjerseyjudo.com http://www.northjerseyjudo.com/ Today the members of the North Jersey Judo club hosted two workout sessions. The clinician was Taraje Williams Murray a 2X Olympian in the sport of Judo. Folks from as far south as Philadelphia came up. The highlight was cadets from the prestiges West Point military academy were also in attendance. Taraje went over some great techniques with the kids and shared his Olympic experience. The parents enjoyed the opportunity for their kids to experience a clinic with Taraje and his incredible amount of knowledge in Judo at the highest levels.
The adult session didn’t prove to be dull either. Taraje showed an amazing insight to the gripping game not to mention his transition into his ground technique. We also got a chance to go live with Taraje and he showed us how intense and important gripping can be. We had 16 kids show up to the kid’s session and with Taraje’s help we were able to raise $320.00. Ramon Hernandez Head Instructor at North Jersey Judo and a Rotarian with the Pequannock Valley Rotary Club will donate the money through Rotary to be sent right away to the Haiti Relief American Red Cross Fund. Special thanks go out to the children’s families that attended this clinic and also to Taraje Williams Murray.
