For Immediate Release March 1, 2009 Contact: Ramon Hernandez 201-206-2705 ramon@northjerseyjudo.com (North Bergen, NJ) – 2 from North Jersey Judo win NJ State Title and take home 2 gold medals at the New Jersey State Championship this weekend. Taylor Carmichael (Team North Jersey Judo) wins gold by winning 2 matches to get to the top of the medal stand. Taylor’s first match was won by shooting for the judo single leg into inner thigh reap (ouchi gari) for the instant win. Taylor’s next match was won when she posted the left hand to pull off a standing shoulder throw for the next instant win. Taylor continues to impress and make all of her tournament outings look easy. Taylor’s next challenge will be the Cranford Judo invitational in late April. Ramon Hernandez Senior (Team North Jersey Judo Head Coach) wins gold winning 2 matches in a 5 man division. Both matches were won by using inner thigh leg throw (uchimata) for instant wins. Ramon’s next challenge will be the Liberty Bell Classic in March held in Philadelphia, PA to help prepare him for the USA Judo Nationals in California in mid April.
